Senior Network Engineer

Excellent opportunity to join a leading IT services firm as a Sr. Network Engineer. The position reports to the Principal of Technical Operations.

Essential Functions

• Network architecture and implementation for clients
• Technical lead for client projects and operations
• Project management
• Technical documentation
• Level 2/3 operational support of client networks
• Mentoring of Level 1 network resources
• Local travel to client offices

Required Technical Skills

• 5 plus years sr. network design and operations experience
• Sr. knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls
• IP design and configuration
• Dynamic routing protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP
• Layer 2 and 3 LAN design and operation
• Ethernet Switch design and configuration: Port Management, Switch Stacking, VLANs, Trunking, Port Aggregation, HSRP, VRRP, Spanning Tree, Port Mirroring
• Chassis and fixed configuration Ethernet switch experience
• WAN design and operation: MPLS, Frame Relay, Point to Point, Metro-Ethernet, Internet
• Network security design
• VPN design and operation: Site to Site and Remote Access
• Load balancers
• WAN optimization appliances
• Wireless design, security and operation
• High network troubleshooting skills
• Network packet analysis experience
• Network management tool experience: Network monitoring, traffic analyzers, NetFlow analyzers, Syslog
• High-availability/Automated failover network design experience
• Security devices: Firewalls, Intrusion Detection
• Project Management experience
• Documentation experience: Network topology diagrams, IP Design/Allocation, Routing design, Change Management, Event Response Procedures, VLAN diagrams, etc.
• Vendor and procurement management experience
• Experience in 24/7 High-Availability data center environments

Highly Desirable Technical Skills

• Systems Administration experience Windows and/or Linux
• VMware 3.x and 4.x experience and/or certifications
• Storage experience: iSCSI, NAS, FC
• Consulting experience
• Network services provider or vendor employment experience
• VoIP experience
• Juniper product experience
• F5, Citrix, Cisco, Coyote Load Balancer experience
• Cisco or other networking certifications
• Experience in PCI, HIPAA or SOX compliance environments
